I think you captured the trend very well. A few years ago they would not consider "selling" anything. DWH was a must have for any
company, it was meant for historical analysis and did not have to be involved in any daily business. As the markets change this DWH philosophy is
cracking.
If you look at the reporting in this broader context I think it should provide the means for the business to identify new opportunities. More
data mining and really serious statistical analysis should be in place. For some reasons they don't seem to be successful yet. Lack of qualified
people, high prices of the software? Perhaps there will be some challenges and opportunities in that area in the years to come.
