I think you'll find that with v2r3 and above the writes are done at the block level - i.e. when updating blocks using sql, the updated data block is only written out once. I believe there will still be a TJ entry for each data row which is affected and I don't know if the writes during rollback are once for each row or once for each block.

Most of this information is available in the release notices for v2r3 and above.
