Hi Roopalini,

I do not think that this column, or any inherited value is a good candidate for partitioning.

Partitioning is good, if you can select a column, which is selective enough, and used in the dominant subset of the queries.

Typically a transaction date is a good candidate.

In this case it seems to be a unique (or nearly) value, which can give a good distribution as PI, but I do not think that anybody will query for any inherited value (eg. first two characters, which could be a theoretical partitioning condition).
