Larry, After removing those entries from the registry, this time I am able to install and start TD12 database but i see some new issues. 1. When i try to open a bteq from command line by running C:\Program Files\NCR\Teradata Client\Bin\bteq.exe i got below error. So this might be a hosts file issue. "The procedure entry point OsGetCOPTDGSSVersion could not be located in the dynamic link library WINCLI32.dll." 2. I am on Windows XP Pro and have noticed that the hosts file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc) where we enter the IP address of teradata servers looks very different, and it has lot of marketing stuff from yahoo.com and i don't see any local IP (127.0.0.1) added by installation here. Bu i see another "hosts" file in C:\i386 which has what bteq needs. Is this a new change in TD12? 127.0.0.1 localhost Thanks - Madhu Das -:)
