Madhumitha Das,

The "hkey_local_machine\software\ncr\teradata for microsoft windows demo" entry in your registry implies that you have not uninstalled the Teradata Demo Applications for the TW 8.1 Demo CD. Use "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel to remove "teradata for microsoft windows demo 6.1". If this is not listed with "Add or Remove Programs", then run regedit and remove:

     "hkey_local_machine\software\ncr\teradata for microsoft windows demo"

Then install the Teradata Express Tools from the Teradata Express 12.0 DVD (or DVD image). Then select the Cleanup option from the Tools menu of the Teradata Service Control program. If the installation of Teradata Database for Teradata Express 12.0 says that "another version of this product is already installed", then run regedit and remove:

     "hkey_local_machine\software\ncr\teradata"

including all entries under this:

     pde, rsg, tdbms, tdgss, and tgtw.
