Dear All,

We have a very large table which is partitioned by a column that represents the date when the row was inserted. Each month end we alter this table to add additional partitions for each date of the next month. I would like to know if there would be any disadvantages of chaining the frequency of this task from monthly to annually i.e. adding empty partitions for all dates in the new year.
