Subj:   Re: Maximum Limits of Users in Warehouse

From:   Matthew Winter

Hi,

We have to audit all of the users in the system to keep track of what our users are looking at and such, so we cannot use a single or shared logins for the app servers. Bummer!

Couple of questions on this:

1. You have 750,000 users how many are concurrent? (peak time)

2. Can your setup handle that number of physical logons on Teradata.

3. For that matter, will your application server cope with that many active connections.

There are plenty of ways of providing the kind of auditing you require, but still using shared logons for the application server.

The other option would be to use an external LDAP source and V2R6. But personally I would go for the shared logons and driving the auditing capabilities through the application server.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Regards

Matthew Winter
