The data in my original post pre-dates roles by a lot, and we cleaned things up by changing our userid creation script to remove most of the
automatic grants. The automatic grants consisted of 21 self, 22 owner and ~150 dbc in addition to the inherited grants from the owner. We were
able to suppress most of these, and I think the only automatic grant we keep now is a self grant for select (some tools need at least one right).
Roles would fix inherited grant issues, but it may not help the automatic rights.
