If your suspected users are coming in via Windows machines (> 3.1) you can run:

nbtstat -A 1.2.3.4

from a command prompt. Note, that you need a capital 'A', and substitute the 1.2.3.4 with the user's IP address.

This will give you NetBIOS name table of that machine, which includes the logged in User Name.

(Yes, there are several assumptions made with process)
