Hi,

I second the 'it Depends'.

We had one customer who because of there Disk configuration was actually sharing a Rank of disks between 2 AMPs.

When they decided to add more disk NCR recommeneded they re sysinit so they could reassign the pdisks to maintain the same number of AMPS but with each Amp managing their own RANK.

Therefore it really depends on your situation. Only your Site team is aware of all the issues involved on your system.

In v2r5 we have a new facility in Reconfig called MOVE AMP which has the ability to REDISTRIBUTE all the data from an AMP (or group of amps) to a new set of pdisks without requiring a SYSINIT.
