Rather than performance issues the need for reconfigure and/or sysinit could be a re-cliqueing issue or clustering of AMPs. Can't say without knowing the details. It is probably faster to archive the data image, perform necessary hardware and configuration changes and then let arcmain restore the data image to the new vproc configuration.
