Truly speaking, even I don't think Teradata would be incapable or inefficient to handle transformations of any nature. Just wanted to make sure with people who have already done it.

The nature of transformations would be as follows:

1. Validating the sku's and other lowest level information in transaction with Master tables

2. Exception handling and reporting

3. Collating 5-7 types of transaction data into one fact row

4. Balancing of loaded data with source


This does involve row level transformations.

If you can give me some estimates of effort required vs efficiency for performing similar tasks on Teradata, it would be great.
