This problem is coming up over and over again. What I have seen too many times is an account team with a string of junk from Oracle, Sybase, whatever, that they want converted to Teradata triggers and stored procedures. The desire is to make the customer go away with whatever was the problem. I think we need to explain to our customers and prospects that we are doing them a disservice to continue down the path of massive, unmaintainable, spaghetti code that is not scalable. If we focus on the customer's needs rather than the knee-jerk reaction of a Teradata employee we can show all parties how to solve business problems using SQL. These are scalable answers to business problems.
