Dave,

I asked a similar question since we are planning a redistribution after adding nodes. The answer from NCR was that we had to run Collect Statistics to get current distribution data. My assumption is that the optimizer gets amp distribution from the collect stats and if you go to a different configuration the distribution will be different even with the same data.
