At a previous site the Oracle Transparent Gateway (previous version against V2R3 though) was used to refresh dimension (reference) tables
on a nightly basis. The gateway actually maintained a write lock while doing a snapshot/refresh type Oracle function with the Oracle tables
as source and Teradata tables as targets. The SQL issued was a "Delete Teradata table all" followed by an Insert/Select from Oracle. It
was a single session CLI operation that performed at about 125 rows/second; average row size about 80 bytes.
