Paul, we have successfully transfered 400 GB of Oracle 8i data to Teradata V2R4 by using a "free" tool called ORA2TD. It generates UNIX scripts to unload Oracle and then matched FASTLOAD or MULTILOAD statements for going into Teradata.

We did it using "named pipes" since we didn't have a landing zone for that much data. The transfer rate was about 100,000 rows every 10 secs. The data was compress before being sent across the network, so we didn't see a whole lot of network interference that cause any problems.
