Using a standard methodology (like NCR's for example or the one we use at Bull) those gaps would have been identified in analysis, way before data was being loaded, and changes in functionality would have been discussed and possibly agreed to. Now, did the DW guys who are doing this really leave you in the dark, or did you ignore what they said, and just go ahead? Or did they not use a methodology. I think "blame" is a really useless concept, however. Do you have data gap documentation, produced before the physical design was set in concrete? Did you read it? Not having it is a real problem. Not reading it is a shame.
