Subj:   Re: About Oracle and Teradata

From:   Bob Hahn

On 9/99 we are scheduled to release the NCR OLE-DB Consumer Access Module. This is a 'plug-in' to Fastload, Multiload, and TPump that can fire SQL or do table copy against any OLE-DB Provider, thus using the power of the source RDBMS for row/column filtering, conditioning, verification, lookup, etc. We have specifically tested with Teradata and SQL Server and will do some limited Oracle testing. The full list of Providers can be found via Microsoft's Web page/documentation, but includes Informix, Sybase, DB2 (MVS and AS/400 and NT), flat files (VSAM, QSAM, PDS, including tape) on MVS, EXCEL, Access, any ODBC, and DTS. Also, any provider can be defined to SQL Server as a linked Server, offering additional options and flexibility. Further inter-operability testing is needed with additional providers and adjustments to the product may be required based on the results.
