For those of you who have been patiently awaiting me to "get it up", I've put two articles on developer exchange relating to the Table UDF to access external data:

Article one is the software that you can set up and use.

Article two is about adding support for additional data types and DBMS. The s/w in article one supports commonly used data types for Oracle and Teradata.
