Hi Sravan,

For the online logging to start it needs to take a checkpoint - so hence it needs to lock the table. Generally you will stop batch to take the checkpoint. From a RPO objective it also makes sense to stop the batch, otherwise how do you know what at which point you are restoring your data to?

The objects are available for read during the checkpoint capture.
