Subj:   Load time in Db2 and teradata.

From:   Mani, Vijay

Hi,

We are currently migrating the data from db2 to teradata. ?In DB2 the load utility is taking 156 mins to load 36 GB compressed file (.Z file), in teradata we are using the named pipe to read the compressed load ready file and it is taking 265 min to load the data, in teradata we use tpt ? update operator (3 producer and 3 consumer instance, Physical node ? 20 , 1200 Amp).,users are comparing the load time between the db2 vs teradata, and we need to improve the load perfomace. Can you please provide some inputs or ways of reducing the load time in teradata.

Thanks,

Vijay Mani
