Yes you can have an alert for down node. But the only thing I don't like with this alert is, even the standby node takes over In place of down node, VP keep sending the alert To set up this alert: Go to Admin- Under SETUP choose Alerts- Under ALERT TYPES choose Node--Click on + sign, then add the Alert Name as ?Node Down?, fill all the fields accordingly. Make sure to Check the ?Enabled? to have that alert enable. NOTE: You have to create an alert action before having this alert. Sample Alert Looks Like this:
