Yes you can have an alert for down node. But the only thing I don't like with this alert is, even the standby node takes over In place of down node, VP keep sending the alert To set up this alert: Go to Admin- Under SETUP choose Alerts- Under ALERT TYPES choose Node--Click on + sign, then add the Alert Name as ?Node Down?, fill all the fields accordingly. Make sure to Check the ?Enabled? to have that alert enable. NOTE: You have to create an alert action before having this alert. Sample Alert Looks Like this: [Alert] PRODUCTION - Node Down (Source: Viewpoint, Type: Node) Event Timestamp: 2013-02-13T09:31:11.718-07:00 Proc ID=98 Node ID=3-02 Status=D CPU Use= Disk Use= Network A Use= Cic Use= Disk Outage Request Average= Disk IO= Host IO= Swaps= Memory Failures= Average Node CPU Usage=10.610392 Average Node Disk Usage=95.65121 System Network A Use=19.785063 Node CPU Skew=32.14446 Description: (Status = D) Thanks, Geeta Kudumula
