They compete rather like the spanner in your toolbox competes with the hammer or screwdriver. Tools for Big Data complement the Teradata RDBMS
and the Teradata Unified Analytics platform offers the best toolkit available for analysing Big Data in itself and as joined to relational data in
the traditional DW. In fact the superficial competition actually serves to convince analysts that they should increase the scope of their universe
and market demand is growing exponentially.
Most other vendors of analytics are working on offering similar unified toolkits but need a lot of time and money to catch up. Check the
Teradata website for Unified Analytics and Aster and Aprimo.
