Simple question but there is no simple answer other than - it depends.

Are you already meeting the SLA? In which case are you sure no-one wants to also run some strategic queries with full table scans, etc?

Are users alI accessing directly or via front-end toolsets that shelter the DW by caching results in memory?

How much fresh data are you loading and how often? And when might that change?

What size discs have you got? The larger discs hold more data but will be slower to respond.

Sooner or later your users will probably want MPP but for now, my suggestion is that you ask your Teradata representative for the pros and cons of a second node for your specific implementation.
