| Customer data space does not include spool. You are looking at Sum(Maxperm). Also keep in mind configurations support 73G drives, 146 G
drives and 300G drives. So the customer dataspace will change based on drive density.
| Maxperm= Customer dataspace+ Spool Space+ DB overhead. | |
| Also the multiplier factor was just a coincidence in your case with the 216 nodes. The node you refer to were configured with 10 amps per
node. The newer generation can support 40+ amps per node, so your multiplier factor would not apply. PE and Amps are based on Node CPU capacity
,IO bandwidth attached and Memory available per node.
Customer space is usually after taking into account FALLBACk+SPOOL+Overhead. So, you mileage may vary depending on what type of drives are
used. Since the Teradata systems are priced based on TPERF, the #of AMPS & Space/AMP might vary based on what has been suggested for your
configuration.
To highlight, everything(almost) is based on TPERF and this drives all your configuration alternatives.
