ODBC Drivers, like all the other TTU connectivity components are aligned with releases - always backwards compatible a couple (and supported) but usually not forward compatible. Problem is, TD usually don't 'enforce' these alignments in their own tools (SQL Assistant, etc.) like some 3rd party vendors do. i.e. if you are on a specific TD release and using the 3rd party tool, they will usually stop you from using a TD component that is 'not supported' on that particular release so if there is an issue, with something they do not have to spend the time/effort in trying to resolve something that is officially NOT supported by TD itself.

At least that's been my experience over the years. I always try to stay on the 'current release' of utilities/connectivity S/W even though it maybe one/two ahead of my Base TD release. Just a thought - for what it's worth on today's market;-)
