Hi, I accidentally recreated the situation you encountered. My password had expired and as soon as I logged into Teradata using queryman, I was asked for a new password. I provided the password and before the system could give me a confirmation of the changed password, I logged into Teradata from Bteq using the new password. This is the sequence of errors i received. In queryman
10060: 10060 WSA E TimedOut: No response received when attempting to connect to the
                   Teradata server
3682: Password has expired, please use MODIFY USER statement to generate a new password.
In bteq
     Error: Logon failed!
I think the experts should be able to get a clearer idea from this. Thanks and Regards Varun Kore,
