Just before you report, couldn't you

     BEGIN QUERY LOGGING ON dummyuser;
     END QUERY LOGGING ON dummyuser;

to force-flush the queue and make it write to disk?

I don't think you want to tie up your disks writing the DBQL logs too frequently.
