Hi all, I did some work with the Data Dictionary and DBQL Tables the last couple of weeks on a Teradata Demo V12 and I was wondering about certain behaving of my Teradata DB System. I enabled Query Logging and run some Queries to see how they affect and what kind of information the dbc tables and views will hold. 3 things got my attention during these tests: 1.) Certain SQL statements do not have an entry in the DBQLExplainTbl nor in the DBQLStepTbl although I can find the QueryID and the correct entry in the DBQLogTbl. But as I said it's only for certain SQL. I also could not find a pattern why they do not have an entry. It seems totally randomized. I was just wondering why this happens. 2.) I have a delay of about 10 - 15 Minutes after execution time before I can find an entry in the DBQL tables. I assume this is a setting within the DB system how often the DBQL Tables will be updated. Does someone know where I can adjust the setting to update the tables more often (lets say every 1 or 2 Minutes)? 3.) We know that Teradata treats ODBC connections to the Data Dictionary with a very low Priority. I haven't test the queries on a productive environment with Priority Scheduler or Workload Manager. Does someone have an idea how such queries are performing on a productive environment? I only accessed the root views (no X or V extension) As written I am running a Terdata Demo V12 standard installation. I did not change anything on the DB settings itself. Thanks a lot Joerg
