Chaim,

Only condition I can think of that will cause Perfromance problems with blocking is if a fair amount of process are blocked at the same time and then all the blocked processes execute at the same time. This can cause an uneven amount of demand on the server (peaks and valleys) and also depletion of AMP worker tasks during the peaks. Some of this can be smoothed out with queuing of queries with TASM.
