Use "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel to remove the Teradata Demo Applications. This will remove the Teradata Service Control icon on the desktop. Then install the Teradata Express Tools from the Teradata Express 12.0 DVD (or DVD image). This will add a Teradata Service Control icon to the desktop. Then select the Cleanup option from the Tools menu of the Teradata Service Control program. This menu selection should completely remove the Teradata Database software.

Then you should restart Windows. If the installation of Teradata Database for Teradata Express 12.0 still says that "another version of this product is already installed", then run regedit and remove:

     hkey_local_machine\software\ncr\teradata
