I'm trying to get Teradata Manager Alerts to produced a banner and am having a few problems. I have set up an alert policy on our development box to try and display a banner when a user logons on via PMON. The alert policy has a banner action and this is assigned as the physical action for 'Logon to Monitor partition' under the sessions tab. The alert has been applied to the box and can be seen when viewing via the active tab. When I logon via PMON, no banner is being displayed. I have tried to change the action to <Abort Session> and that works fine, once the refresh of alerts session data has taken place, my session on PMON is ended and the eventlog shows as 'Forced Off'. The set up seems to be correct for what to alert for (Check DBCMNGR.AlertLevel table where id = 409): Id Description HighLimit LowLimit HighAction MidAction LowAction Duration 409 Ses Monitor 0 0 Bannertest But nothing seems to be appearing in DBCMNGR.AlertRequest, I've had a look in DBQL and there have been no attempts to insert into it. I tried to add my own occurrence to trigger the banner and still nothing happened: ReqDate ReqTime JobName Description EventValue ActionCode RepeatPeriod Destination Message 13/08/2008 83701 job1 test banner 0 B 1 banner1 Can anyone suggest what may be the underlying problem here? Thanks in advance, Martin
