Michael, Yes, this should be the issue. We always had this problem when creating a delimited file with variable length fields. To get around this we will first concatenate all the columns between the delimiter and then cast the whole record as huge CHAR(n) field. But we then end up removing the extra space at the end of record using UNIX commands. Is there any option to tell Fastexport to not to output the "variable length indicator"?.
