Hello, I hope that I understand correctly what you mean by access rights using databases. If you mean defining databases for the sole purpose of grouping users in order to be able to use GRANT .. TO ALL.... , then this is it what we have been doing until recently. We are currently changing nearly all access rights to roles, so far I cannot detect any disadvantages. Our current database-based access rights map to job functions, our Views are grouped in separate databases mapping to subject areas / applications (thus almost no duplicate views exist) . Therefore, it is in fact more an access right administriation with individual access rights. Since this requires quite a lot of maintenance, the role-based access rights will map to job functions as well as to subject areas. Kind regards Martin Fuchs
