Hi all

I have some doubts in Teradata Technology; please let me know the solution.

1. When we run an explain statement for any query...

The resultant set is transferred to spool1/spool2.... What is the significance of the nos here....1,2.....

Based on what a specific spool is used?

2. Select top 1000 * from xyz;

Assume the table xyz is having 20000 records set....

Is it that all 20000 are transferred to the spool from where 1000 will be given to the output?

Or only 1000 record set will be retrieved from the amps...

This needs to be known to avoid spool space issues.

3. I have written a query to retrieve the records but it took 1 hour after that it shows an error as insufficient spool space. (I have assigned enough spool space)

Is there any solution to overcome this problem?
