Omer - a couple of other thoughts: 1) Are U using FALLBACK? Double the writes means double the time to load. If U're shop performs a well timed backup, U probably don't need FALLBACK. I don't know of any cases where data was lost due to hardware failures with Teradata. (Lots of pain and delay during recovery, but the data finally arrived safe and sound.) Anyone know of anything different? 2) The 80-20 rule should drive your analysis and decision making. There is a good chance that a handful of large tables and attendant processes are responsible for most/all of your ETL timing. Focus on these processes. This means don't sweat the small stuff like a 400 or 4000 row tables. Good Luck. Rgrds, Bill Gregg
