Subj:   Reduce loading time

From:   OmerAl

Hello All,

Our daily load time is around 8 hours. Thats too much because only late in the morning do we actually get a chance to generate reports. I need to reduce the time and have a few things in mind but not sure how would it work.

1. We have only MLOADS in our entire process. This process has around 4000 individual jobs (actually each job is an Informatica session). I have switched to using TPUMP for some of the smaller tables (like < 1000 rows) but it looks like TPUMP is actually degrading performance.

2. I have also benchmarked every job for a week to find an optimal solution but it looks like if I save time in one place I lose it somewhere else, so the overall time remains the same

3. Some of the tables are really big in terms of queries but interestingly they take much longer in loading the data. Like there is a table that takes 10 minutes for the query but 40 minutes to load 300,000 rows using MLOAD and that is the average time daily.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Omer Alvi
