Joseph, Not sure I follow your answer.....I thought the hosts file of the PC/Server needed to have the IP of the DNS. For example if your DNS of tera- dns-xxx.something.com had an ip of 12.34.56.789. Then the hosts file would have: 12.34.56.789 tpd1cop1 And bteq logon as you said below. Are you saying that nothing needs to be added to the hosts file if the DNS is configured correctly? And yes, I agree, if you know the DNS, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get the IP.
