Subj:   Re: Performance of Teradata SQL Assistant 7.1

From:   Dempsey, Mike

When you say 'Insert' do you mean with Import mode, or just simple Insert queries?

If Import, have you checked the settings of the Import buffer sizes to ensure that you are not over allocating the buffer sizes.

You should also verify that you have the latest TTU8.1 versions of SQL Assistant and ODBC:

     SQLA 7.1.0.8
     ODBC 3.5.0.9

These are available from the patch server.

Also note that SQLA 6.2 (with ODBC 3.3) would be using ASCII while 7.1 (with ODBC 3.5) will be using a Unicode interface.

This should not generally have a major effect on performance, but it may have some effect.
