Thanks for the quick responses.
As I was using the JDBC-ODBC bridge, I wasn't able to access the functions noted to catch the requirement to change the password. The database
connection was not permitted for a user with an expired password when the "Quiet Mode" option was turned on. As noted, when this option was off,
the driver waited for the dialogue box to be actioned.
In the end, I upgraded Teradata to V2R6 and was able to use the Type 4 JDBC driver. Using this driver I was able to connect (even with an
expired password), determine whether the password had expired and to prompt the user for a new password if it had.
