Simon,

It seems to me that you are having problems with the format you export/import through Fastexport and Multiload!

Try the following, doing the adjustments in your scripts by adding the rest of the required parameters:

1) In the Fastexport utility, use the following command to set the option to work with nulls:

     "...
      .EXPORT OUTFILE  FORMAT FASTLOAD MODE INDICATOR;
      ."

2) In the Multiload:

     ".
      .IMPORT INFILE  FORMAT FASTLOAD
          LAYOUT..
      ."

The information above shoud be the default options! If you are changing the format, to TEXT for example, you may have the NULLs translated to 0 (zeroes) or Blanks.
