I had not realized that you were reporting this problem only on specific PCs. If you see the problemm only on some PCs, and with SQLA 6.1, it would appear to depend on some specific combination of support dlls. I see it only with 7.0 and 7.1. In my case 6.1 and 6.2 work fine. I also use XP SP2 (maybe not ALL the hot fixes though) (We started installing the Microsoft support dlls in the SQLA install directory in 7.0 - so this may use different versions of the dlls than 6.x.) I will experiment with different dll versions to see if I can narrow this down. You can check which versions you are using on the PCs that display the problem, and compare to those that do not display the problem, by running the 'verify.exe' application, found in the SQLA install directory. This creates a 'verify.log' file showing the version of all the main support dlls. (It does not include the 'base' windows dlls however.) If you find a different version of one (or more) dlls that may be the cause. Please let me know which ones, and the versions, if that does in fact fix the problem. Mike Dempsey
