Hi, When UDFS were first released I wrote This post to Teradata Forum as an example of how to make a UDF.... www.teradataforum.com/teradata/20031203_102414.htm There is an example I wrote, is_integer(), in the Forum's UDF section which for some reason is missing a link from the Teradata Forum home page. Maybe this Page was never officially released. www.teradataforum.com/tdfudfi.htm Also all the UDF's that you download from the UDF download page www.teradata.com/t/page/130552 come with source code so you can look them over and modify them as you see fit. You can download the UDF users guide from v2r5.1 www.teradata.com/t/go.aspx/index.html?id=122421 or the UDF white Paper for V2r6 ( just be aware some of these features might not be available to you ) www.teradata.com/t/go.aspx/index.html?id=103916 There is also an Orange Book available through NCR@YOURSERVICE, but that requires a Logon you can only get from your NCR account team. you may also want to download the SQL Reference: UDF Programmers manual www.info.ncr.com/eDownload.cfm?itemid=033360020 ( 5.1 version ) www.info.ncr.com/eDownload.cfm?itemid=043140015 ( 6.0 version ) Hopefully this will get you started. maybe we should turn the Above into a teradata Forum FAQ on UDFs. Dennis.
