With V2R5, the concept of a current or active role was introduced. In following versions (at least in V2R6 documentation) the SET ROLE ALL was introduced, allowing for multiple roles to be active.

(1) Why do we need the concept of (a or ALL) current or active role? (just for ANSI compliance?)

(2) Who is using SET ROLE? How convenient is it to get clients such as Business Objects to issue SET ROLE?

(3) what if I want only a few roles to be active, not all? something like SET ROLE role1, role2; I could nest them into another role ...
