I would say instead that you should minimize the number of concurrent PM/API (monitor) sessions. It's not that it takes "a lot" of resources in
absolute terms, more that monitor requests are handled in an "expedited" way and slso use "special" limited resources so there can be
disproportionate impact on the system compared to normal SQL sessions.
That's why Teradata Manager permits a three-tier client/server mode of operation - one connection to the DBMS and many desktop clients
connected to the server.
