Christian, The query would need to have one value for each column, in an equality condition:
...where store_number = 11 and product_code = 222...
It would only work if you had a small range of values for each column. For example, assume a table with a 3-digit product code and 2- digit store. This would only be useful if a lot of your queries had one value for product and one for store. But a limitation is that this form of partitioning cannot be changed unless the table is empty. Unfortunately, I cannot offer any practical suggestions on this approach, as this is only a hypothetical example, and I have not seen it be used. Thanks, -Carrie
