Hi,

This is from the Developer....

Secondary indexes are allowed to be specified on a volatile table when it is created.

They are not allowed to be added/dropped via CREATE/DROP INDEX syntax.

Statistics are not allowed to be collected on volatile table. I believe the Parser uses all-amp sampling to build the stats internally when necessary.

I think the intent here is that When the Volatile table is materialized within the session, the Table header can not be modified it is just inhereted from the original Create Table statement.

Therefore if the Original Create had the INDEXES that is fine.

You just can't add Additional or Drop indexes after you materalize the table within your session context.
