We are receiving data that would require a datatype of DECIMAL(18,7).

Obviously the max DECIMAL is (18,0).

What options do I have for the format of this column?

I don't want to use varchar/char as arithmetic calulations and sorting will be part of any likely queries using the column.

It has been suggested that maybe varbyte, blob or float could be answers but I'm not too familiar with these data types.
