I've experienced this problem with Hummingbird's BI Query 8.1.1 and with Business Object using Teradata ODBC 3.03.00.07. Using Teradata SQL Assistant 6.2.0.02 I do not experience the problem. SQL Assistant connects in about 4 sec. BI Query takes about 25 sec or longer. I connect using the same ODBC Data Source. I traced the SQL for both connects and the BI Query trace log is much larger than the SQL Assistant trace log. I was thinking the older release of BI Query was the cause. Maybe not.
