If it is the third party code which you cannot modify, then the answer is negative, and you have just provided the explanation for it.
If you can modify the metric definition then you can use INTERVAL types other than DAY(4) and/or the EXTRACT function. The latter helps
extracting various elements such as year, month, day etc. There are many examples in the archives of this forum.
